- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup whole milk (warm)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix sourdough starter, warm milk, honey, egg, and melted butter until combined.
- Add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes, then cover and let rise overnight (8-12 hours).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, cook blueberries, sugar, lemon zest, and cornstarch until thickened. Let cool.
- Roll out the dough into a large rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick). Spread the blueberry filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough into a log, then slice into 12 equal rolls. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and lemon juice to create the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls. Serve and enjoy!
