Why do we boil pretzels before baking?

Boiling gives pretzels their signature chewy texture and deep golden color. The baking soda helps create that iconic crust.

Can sourdough pretzels be frozen?

Yes! Once baked, freeze them in a single layer. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.

How do I store sourdough pretzels leftovers?

Keep them in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.

Can I use active sourdough starter instead of discard in sourdough pretzels?

Absolutely! Just make sure it’s at room temperature before mixing.
